I thought this was interesting because I would have thought that left-brained people would be more likely to get employment since they are more logical thinkers. Now that I think about, future employers look for applicants who can think outside the box and can get an overall picture out to others. Today, employers no longer value people who can only did well in school. They are looking for well-rounded people who participated in activities and showed creativity. Nowadays just going to college and getting a degree isn’t going to give you much of an advantage. Employers want to see that you have the actual skills to perform the job. The article says that saying that you graduated from college is more like a resume booster just like joining clubs. The problem with this, according to the article is that we are paying a lot of money for just a resume booster. I think that for some jobs you need the extra schooling education and for some jobs you don’t. I know that some of my friends went to a vocational high school so they could learn the skills they needed for a certain job and not have to go to college. I think this is great, but for some jobs you need more time to learn and gain experience that I think you can only get from college.

It talked about vocational schools as a good way to get experience you need in a certain job in order to get that job in the future. I think that if there is a vocational school that gives you the experience you need in order to get the job you want then you should go their instead of going to college. The purpose of going to a vocational school is so you don’t have to go to college, instead you can go straight to work.
I also like that even though the article talks about not going to college, because there are other options, it also talks about the things you miss when you don’t go to college. I think that going to college and not going to college in order to go straight to work both have their pros and cons. It’s different for each person on whether one over powers the other.
